Welcome to Flora McDonald Junior School |
|
The school was built in 1969 and the main building comprising of a hall, nine classrooms, a Library, a Learning Support Room and an ICT Suite. An extension was completed in 1998 providing a further three classrooms with withdrawal rooms and a Music Room. There are a further six mobile classrooms situated at the back of the school one of which serves as an After School Club. Our ICT Suite was re-furbished in April 2007 providing state-of-the-art facilities to enhance our pupils e-learning. In addition there are two further hutted rooms in the main car park area one housing a County Re-Integration Unit and the other an office for the L.A. U.K. Project. There are three hard-surfaced play areas and a large field for physical education. An outdoor heated learner pool provides swimming facilities during the Summer Term. The school shares a wildlife conservation area with Wickbourne Infant School which is on the same site. The school has recently added an Adventure Trail with plans in place for an extension to the main hall to provide kitchen facilities. |
